Filmfare Awards South
Filmfare Awards South is the South Indian segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by the Filmfare magazine of The Times Group to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Indian film industry encompassing four languages, namely, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. They were introduced in 1954, around the films released in 1952-53 and Filmfare Awards initially recognizing the Hindi film industry. In 1964 awards were extended in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi, around the films released in 1963. The inclusion of the Malayalam cinema in the awards came in 1967 while Kannada cinema was recognized in 1970. Each industry is given its own set of creative awards in annual ceremonies that have predominantly been held in Hyderabad and Chennai. Rakshit Shetty (born 6 June 1983) is an Indian actor, film producer, writer and filmmaker of Kannada cinema. He is the recipient of two Filmfare Awards South. Early life Shetty was born in Udupi on 6 June 1983 in a Tulu-speaking Bunt family. He completed his schooling at his hometown. During his schooling days he was an avid '' Pili Nalike'' dancer, a folk dance in the ''Tulu Nadu region''. This made him provide a major role for the dancers in his 2014 film ''Ulidavaru Kandanthe''. Before starting his movie career, he completed his bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications engineering at N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte, Karkala. ''RangiTaranga'' (English: ''Colourful Wave'') is a 2015 Indian Kannada-language mystery thriller film written and directed by Anup Bhandari in his debut, and produced by H. K. Prakash, under Shree Devi Entertainers. It features debutantes Nirup Bhandari, Radhika Chetan and Avantika Shetty in the lead roles, along with the veteran actor, Saikumar. Anup Bhandari is an Indian film director, composer and lyricist who works primarily in Cinema of Karnataka, Kannada cinema. He made his directorial début with the mystery thriller film ''Rangitaranga'', featuring his brother Nirup Bhandari, in 2015. ''Kirik Party'' is a 2016 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by G. S. Guptha and Rakshit Shetty.
